Crosstown Expressway to Greenwood Drive
COMPLETED
The project scope includes re-habilitation with new asphalt pavement, a multiuse side path, pedestrian improvements, and pavement markings. Utility improvements include new water main, new wastewater mains, storm drainage improvements, and conduit for information technology.
November 19, 2021: The project is 98% complete with only parking lot paving and a new sanitary sewer connection under Crosstown Expressway currently pending. The roadway is open to traffic.
October 18, 2021: Last week the contractor completed the installation of the final roadway surface of Holly Road. This week they are cleaning the roadway, striping the roadway, installing reflective buttons, and installing signage. Regular traffic flow resumed last week Friday. Final landscaping and parking lot asphalt should be done in the coming weeks. The project is anticipated to reach final completion in November 2021, weather permitting.
September 14, 2021: The contractor has installed asphalt roadway on the westbound lane from Crosstown Expressway (Hwy 286) last week. The sidewalks and ADA ramps have been installed at the Holly Rd intersections at Martin Street and Victor Lara Ortegon Street. All fire hydrants have been installed and the contractor is currently working on waterline tie-ins at the Holly Rd intersection at Greenwood Drive. The project is anticipated to be complete in November 2021 weather permitting.
August 13, 2021: The contractor has completed the stormwater pipe and manhole installation. They’re currently working on the installation of the new water and sewer lines. They have completed the asphalt milling and limestone compaction of the northside of Holly Road from 286 East to Greenwood West. The asphalt roadway is scheduled to be installed next week along with sidewalks and ADA ramps on the Southside of Holly Road.
July 12, 2021: The Holly Road project from Crosstown Expressway to Greenwood Drive has experienced significant rainfall over the last several weeks. Efforts were made to dewater the roadway however; several rain days were unavoidable. The contractor was able to complete the installation of the Geo-grid, limestone base installment and they reached an ending point for subgrade work on the northside lanes of Holly Road. Dewatering and road maintenance will continue this week as the project moves forward.
June 8, 2021: Jhabores Construction Company, Inc is currently working on the installation of new sewer lines on the north side of Holly Road. They are also working on removing asphalt pavement in the same area. Over the next several weeks area motorist can expect to see new sidewalk construction taking place on the south side of the road. Sewer line and asphalt work will continue for the next several weeks.
