Yorktown Boulevard to Adler Drive
COMPLETED
The Rodd Field Road project includes a new pavement section to be placed south of Rodd Field Road from Yorktown Boulevard to Adler Drive, which includes sidewalk, curb ramps, signalization at the Yorktown Boulevard intersection, roadside ditches, and various utility improvements. As part of the project, three side streets will be tied into the proposed Rodd Field Road (Dunn’s Point Drive, Siberian Steet, & Adler Drive). Existing curb and gutters for the intersections of these three side streets will connect new curb and gutters that transition to the new Rodd Field Road extension, which will not have curb and gutter.
The new addition of Rodd Field Road is designated to be a Local Rural Road with 2 lanes and roadside ditches. The current posted speed limit north of the Yorktown intersection is 45 MPH. A new speed limit of 30 mph will be implemented for the extension of Rodd Field Road. The new roadway will be striped as a Local-Rural Road. ADA improvements shall consist of ten (10) foot wide shared use paths, curb ramps, and crosswalk striping. Traffic and other regulatory signage shall be provided throughout the project limits. A left-turn lane on Yorktown Boulevard heading southbound will be needed due to the new traffic movements from Yorktown Boulevard to Rodd Field Road.
